A Discovery With
Every Viewing
My journey as an artist began as soon as I was old enough to pick up a pencil, soon followed by a fascination with cinema and a profound love for the art of visual storytelling. These twin passions have been the cornerstone of my creative odyssey, each symbiotically nurturing and enhancing the other. These galleries represent the culmination of years spent studying and honing my craft, each a snapshot of who I am as an artist and director today, seeking to evoke an emotion, idea, or thought in a viewer that they have never had before. A discovery with every viewing.
Painting
These fully realized artworks are designed to stand independently, each telling its own story without always requiring a broader narrative or character concept. While my background and training include more traditional methods, the unmatched ease and flexibility of digital painting have made it my preferred medium. The ability to adjust contrast, tone, colors, and more in real-time allows for much greater experimentation and artistic freedom. Many of these started as sketches or concept art pieces that were then fully detailed, textured, and lit.
Emily Greene
2024 | DIGITAL PAINTING | 14 X 16
A character concept piece of the titular teenage heroine from my horror screenplay “Emily Greene.” I wanted to give a hint of underlying danger in her somber expression. This one was done in Procreate.
Nikki Cole
2022 | DIGITAL PAINTING | 18 X 17
Character Concept for Nikki Cole, from the original feature screenplay "Courier." This one was about capturing that cool, enigmatic getaway driver vibe set against the synthwave/retrowave aesthetic of the story world.
Brigade
2023 | DIGITAL PAINTING | 18 X 12
Another character illustration done in Procreate. This one comes from “Brigade,” a story idea and world I’ve had for a while—my version of a colorful, post-apocalyptic fantasy world. She’s a main character without a name. Any ideas?
Concept Art
Concept art embodies the ultimate fusion of my artistic interests—the nexus point at which my passion for filmmaking and love of illustration converge. The beauty of it lies in the freedom it offers—allowing designs to evolve through various iterations and exist at any level of detail, as long as they effectively communicate the desired meaning and purpose. It serves as its own distinct visual language, uniquely capable of conveying the story in a manner that transcends mere words on a page.
Mech Suit (Marine)
2021 | DIGITAL PAINTING | 11 X 16
This concept art piece was created purely for enjoyment. The symmetrical design was initially created in Procreate before being polished in Photoshop. The "Marine" suit is one of two pieces I did for this set, the other being the "Desert" suit.
Dark Elder
2021 | DIGITAL PAINTING | 9 X 10
Another piece of creature/character concept art done just for fun, with no clear destination in mind when I started it. My take on the Mouth of Sauron, I suppose—or a medieval Cenobite, maybe? This one was done in Procreate, then polished in Photoshop, with additional textures and lighting adjustments added.
Manbat
2023 | CONCEPT ART | 11 X 13
It started like many of them do: a random sketch I took to full color. It’s creepy creature concept art, my favorite! I'm thinking of exploring this design further with a follow-up piece that has the mouth opening, which will probably look very disgusting.
Illustration
This gallery showcases a more playful side of my work, full of eccentric creatures and characters that defy easy categorization. The painting style is inspired by the 2D animation and comic books I loved as a kid, with stylistic touches meant to evoke cel shading and traditional inking methods. Most of these pieces were drawn and painted in Procreate on the iPad, then taken into Photoshop for final touchups.
Monica
2021 | ILLUSTRATION | 15 X 23
Another addition to the Oddballs Collection— a character illustration that gleefully discards correct proportions in favor of a playful and eccentric aesthetic. I still see things I wish I would’ve done differently with this one; I’m thinking of taking another crack at it soon!
Zombi-Fi
2020 | ILLUSTRATION | 14 X 14
Another Oddballs Collection character illustration intended as a t-shirt. I started with the idea of a head wearing headphones and just started sketching. Most of the coloring was done in Procreate before being brought into Photoshop for additional details and cel shading style effects.
Lil’ Eddie
2021 | ILLUSTRATION | 14 X 15.5
A member of my Oddballs Collection, which is just the name I’ve given to all the playful and weird character illustrations I like to do. Eddie here started with normal arms, but that seemed a bit boring—tentacles are more fun! Like most of the oddballs, this one was done using Procreate.
